Getting Healthy -- Fasting, Juicing

Well, it's been 2 1/2 weeks since I started and finished my ten-day Masters Cleanse (more on that later). And now that I'm back on solid food, I still have the desire to stay healthy and eat healthy. So, I've been juicing my life away. I tried to impress Trevor last week by making him a nice juice drink. He really liked it. But, that was the first time (first time this year, that is) that my juicer got a mind of its own. And, it happened again tonight. Let me mention that I juiced some orange juice this morning. So, I still had the leftover orange pulp in the pulp discard container (reserved for the next time I juiced in order to chuck the entire thing out in the evening (no, I don't have a garden; or else, I would have saved it for compost.)). Just tell me if this has ever happened to you. I just got all my vegetables and apples out and rinsed & cut them -- beet tops, celery, turnip, apples, carrots, fennel, bunch of parsley, and a big chunk of ginger root. I inserted all the beet tops in the feed before turning on the juicer. I turned on the juicer and it went absolutely crazy and vibrated all over the place. It sounded as if there was an airplane in my kitchen. The red juice from the beet tops pouring down the sides of the juicer and onto the counter top -- none of it going into the pulp discard container. The juicer vibrating and turning clockwise on the counter, thereby pouring all the juice onto the counter, rather than inside the glass. The celery (a black-looking juice, once it mixed with the beet tops) poured forth like water (outside of the discard container and glass, of course). The entire counter and floor were a mess of red and black juice. Not very appetizing at all. I had to turn the machine off and start to clean the entire mess. Then, when I went to my refrigerator to put away the left over fresh vegetables, the frige's door shelf tray fell off and everything that had been sitting on the shelf fell on the floor. My mother's adorable baking soda decorative holder broke into smithereens. The baking soda all over the floor together with the broken glass.

I'm sure that while I spent all that time cleaning the counter, floor, juicer, and the baking soda and glass, all the oxygen was leaving my freshly juiced concoction.

Getting healthy is challenging sometimes. Especially when you're an obsessive klutz. What you say? Yes, the juice was very good once I got to drink it.
